Knit & Knatter 2014
As the photos show, the ladies of Knit & Knatter were very busy between June 2013 and May 2014!
In May each year, St John's United has a 'Harvest, Garment & Jersey Sunday'. The Knit & Knatter items are then donated to the various charities they support, eg CHOC, who receive knitted toys for the children undergoing cancer treatment, as well as knee rugs for the elderly, jerseys and beanies for underprivileged children. The Book of Memory is also supported with bed socks & knitted coat hangers for the over 80's. Bed Socks and beanies are also made as Christmas gifts for the old folk at Emuseni Old Age Home in Edendale.
Well done Knit & Knatter ladies!

In February 2014, Knit & Knatter received a wonderful donation from one of the wool factories in East London. A BIG bag of wool, weighing 15 kg was delivered to the Church office last week. Lots of knitting for the ladies to do!
Five of our Knitters & Knatters are pictured with the many items these dedicated ladies made during 2013.
The object of this ministry is to support various charities, for example CHOC, who receive knitted toys for the children undergoing cancer treatment, as well as knee rugs for the elderly, jerseys and beanies for underprivileged children. The Book of Memory is also supported with bed socks & knitted coat hangers for the over 80's. Any donations of wool or cash will be greatly accepted and appreciated. The ladies meet every 2nd Thursday morning in the Jericho Room from 10 am to around noon. Contact the church office for the dates or if you require a lift.
